Hi all it's me again. Have just arrived home from my monthly visit to the ploughman's lunch at the village hall. I have now been going there for 9 months and I can honestly say this was my very best visit ever. For the first time I got there early at 10 am and helped out with putting out tables and preparing the hall for the crowds. This I enjoyed and will.be doing it every month. My leg won't allow me to pull out tables and chairs but I did other things which helped out. For a while I felt quite useful and will do this every month. Today I took in 3 chocolate brownies and am pleased to say 2 of them went. That would be 27 portions and in total we had 58 people in so I'm very pleased that half of them had my dessert. Considering 15 months I couldn't cook as you all know, and now I have a society asking me to cook for them and people enjoying them I am very happy. On my table Maureen and Ken had it and they wouldn't lie but said that it was very good and had no complaints. I know I'm bragging but at 87 and just learning to cook I am very proud of myself as I'm sure my Rosemary is. I'm now known by a lot of people who all make me feel welcome and so feel this is one of the best things to happen to me. I must thank Victoria. Bob and the rest of the team for the hard work they all put in to put this on for us. The girls in the kitchen work very hard and deserve all the thanks that they can get. Then there is Linda on the teas who always gives you a big smile and plenty of backchat which makes you feel very welcome. Linda used to work in the chemist until 19 years ago and Rosemary and I have known her for about 30 years and has always been like that and so I say to her please don't change.
